In front of the canal in Anderlecht, the Aurore neighbourhood is a pretty unique part of Brussels. This succession of seven buildings from the 60s feels like a remnant of another era. All around it, former industrial zones are currently being transformed into real estate developments.
While some denounce it as a process of gentrification, the ambitious "Canal Plan," drawn up by public authorities in 2012, promises new housing and "neighborhood revitalization ».
